Gearing up for the EDIAQI Project Meeting and Air Protection Conference 2023

Microscope and indoor plants

Scheduled for the 19th of September in Dubrovnik, Croatia, the EDIAQI project is gearing up for its second in-person project meeting. Following this, the team is poised to participate in the Air Protection Conference 2023, which will also take place in Dubrovnik from the 20th to the 23rd of September. EDIAQI project experts will take centre stage at the Conference by hosting a dedicated panel discussion regarding the quality of indoor air in Europe and beyond.

The EDIAQI project's primary goal is to comprehensively understand indoor air quality, pollutant sources, exposure pathways, and health effects. To achieve this, it employs intensive scientific measurements and long-term monitoring to investigate pollutants' properties and behaviours in indoor environments.

The upcoming EDIAQI project meeting is a pivotal step in achieving these objectives. It will allow stock-taking of achievements over the first 9 months, introduce Advisory Board members to our consortium for valuable guidance, and aid in planning upcoming tasks. Face-to-face discussions will cover crucial topics like sensor technology, developments in the pilots and awareness campaigns as well as the project wiki. This meeting really is a key opportunity to ensure the EDIAQI project’s success.

Air Protection International Conference

The meeting will also lay the groundwork for EDIAQI’s participation in the Air Protection Conference. The conference will be hosted by the Croatian Air Pollution Prevention Association, in collaboration with the Institute for Medical Research and Occupational Health (IMROH), the Croatian Meteorological and Hydrological Service (DHMZ), and the European Federation of Clean Air and Environmental Protection Associations (EFCA). Taking place from the 20th to the 23rd of September, this event will cover a wide range of topics, including air quality management, sources and emissions of air pollution, monitoring of ambient air pollution, machine learning and air quality modelling, advancements in testing and measuring methods, health impacts of air pollution, the environmental consequences of air pollution and its connection to climate, energy-efficient and healthy buildings, as well as indoor air quality.

EDIAQI project experts are set to host an exclusive panel discussion and workshop, focusing on "Indoor Air Quality and the EDIAQI Project." Chaired by our Scientific Coordinator, Dr. Mario Lovric, the panel discussion will cover crucial aspects, including the identification and characterisation of indoor air pollutants, insights into the pilots and awareness campaigns, exploration of health effects linked to indoor air quality, and the strategic connection between EDIAQI and the IDEAL Cluster. The session will conclude by engaging with questions from the audience, fostering an interactive exchange of ideas.

Please join us in Dubrovnik and don't miss the enlightening EDIAQI workshop that promises to deepen insights into indoor air quality, indoor air pollutants, and their potential health effects.
